Mila Arden
Light and shadow pressed into relief — monochrome fields your eyes read the way hands read texture.
The work
Mila Arden works where painting ends and sculpture begins. Each piece is a single field of color — deep blue, bone white, blush, lamp black — carved into waves, moons, blooms and ridge lines that catch real light and hold real shadow.
Because the image is made of relief rather than pigment, it changes with the hour: calm and flat under midday light, deep and dramatic by evening. The work lives with the room.
Her subjects are elemental — the sea, the moon, a cypress, a single bloom — chosen because their forms survive the reduction to one material and become more themselves for it.
